Sustainability, Human Rights and Gender Equality Commitment

We develop sustainable, accessible, ethical and inclusive digital learning solutions.

This Statement sets out the policy and commitments of Learnera Eğitim Danışmanlık ve Bilişim Hizmetleri Limited Şti. (“LearnERA” or “the Company”) with respect to environmental responsibility and to the broader environmental, social and economic dimensions of sustainability.

LearnERA was first established in 2012 and has operated as a limited liability company since 2015, headquartered in Ümraniye, İstanbul, with a branch office in Çankaya, Ankara.

This Statement applies to all of the Company’s operations, projects and personnel, and reflects the values that LearnERA upholds throughout the delivery of its services to clients, partners and stakeholders.

As a digital-learning company, LearnERA recognises that its responsibility extends beyond the technical quality of its work to the environmental footprint of its operations and the social impact of the learning products it creates.

Environmental Policy

LearnERA is committed to preventing pollution, using resources responsibly, and minimising the environmental impact of its activities. The Company’s delivery model is inherently low-impact, and LearnERA actively maintains and strengthens this position through the following commitments:

  • Digital-first, zero-waste delivery: LearnERA prioritises fully digital workflows and digital deliverables, including PDF, ePUB, HTML5, SCORM and video, over printed materials. On recent assignments, the Company has applied a zero-waste approach by keeping all materials digital and sharing them over the web, substantially reducing paper consumption and physical waste.

  • Low-carbon working practices: The Company relies on remote and online collaboration for the majority of its work, reducing travel-related greenhouse-gas emissions, and applies energy-conscious practices and energy-efficient equipment in its office operations.

  • Green transformation and scalable digital solutions: LearnERA has built scalable education platforms, including digital learning platforms for universities in earthquake-affected regions and for institutions serving large Syrian-refugee student populations, with automated translation of materials. These solutions enable clients to reach learners independent of time and location and to reach wider audiences while minimising ecological impact.

  • Resource efficiency and reuse: Learning objects are built on open standards, including SCORM and HTML5, so that they can be maintained, updated and re-deployed by the client over time. This extends the useful life of digital assets and avoids duplicate production.

  • Responsible procurement and disposal: Where physical equipment is required, LearnERA favours durable, energy-efficient hardware and responsible electronic-waste disposal and recycling, and periodically reviews its operations to identify further reductions in energy, paper and travel.

Social Sustainability, Human Rights
and Gender Equality

LearnERA maintains a formal Gender Equality Policy and a Code of Business Ethics and Conduct that govern all of its operations.Under its Gender Equality Policy, LearnERA commits to equal opportunities for career development and advancement regardless of gender; fair and equitable compensation; an inclusive work culture; flexible work arrangements; gender-neutral policies free from discrimination; education and awareness on gender equality; and transparent reporting on progress.

Under its Code of Business Ethics and Conduct, the Company upholds integrity, transparency, equity, respect for the dignity and self-determination of individuals, and human rights. LearnERA strictly prohibits any form of trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation or forced labour, together with any form of discrimination, harassment or unethical conduct.

The Company is also committed to equal-opportunity employment and accountability to the highest standards. These commitments are operationalised in the way LearnERA delivers learning. For assignments addressing sensitive issues such as violence against women, discrimination, exclusion or vulnerability, the Company applies a survivor-centred, do-no-harm approach so that scenarios, imagery and language avoid re-traumatisation and harmful stereotypes.

LearnERA designs digital learning materials to support accessibility and inclusion. Where applicable, the Company designs materials to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards, advancing disability inclusion and enabling wider participation in digital learning.

LearnERA also has a sustained record of delivering gender-focused and fragile-group programmes, including NEET women’s mentorship with UNDP and the Sabancı Foundation, and women’s entrepreneurship programmes with KAGIDER.

Economic Sustainability

LearnERA approaches each assignment with whole-life-cycle thinking.

The Company designs digital learning assets for longevity, maintainability and reuse, so that the investment made by the client continues to generate value after delivery.

LearnERA supports local capacity building and small and medium enterprises through its sourcing of specialist services within Türkiye.

By co-creating solutions with stakeholders, including local communities, NGOs, government bodies and private-sector partners, LearnERA ensures that its projects deliver immediate benefits while building the foundation for lasting, locally relevant change.

Governance and Continuous
Improvement

Responsibility for this policy rests with the Company’s management.

LearnERA communicates these commitments to its personnel and associated experts, integrates them into its project-delivery and quality-assurance processes, and reviews the policy periodically to ensure that it remains effective and reflects evolving good practice.

As part of its broader sustainability framework, LearnERA is committed to strengthening its institutional practices in environmental responsibility, gender equality, accessibility, ethical conduct and inclusive learning design.
